ACCESSIBILITY AT CITY CENTRE PARK
All of the facilities at City Centre Park are wheelchair accessible and have accessible washrooms. City Centre Park employees who work directly with customers receive training on how to interact with customers with disabilities, helping to provide the most inclusive environment for all.
This training includes:
1. How to interact and communicate with people with various types of disability.
2. How to interact with persons with disabilities who use an assistive device or require the assistance of a guide dog or other service animal or the assistance of a support person.
3. What to do if a person with a particular type of disability is having difficulty accessing the goods or services of City Centre Park
4. What service discounts, special rates, or other accommodations we offer at City Centre Park for customers with certain disabilities.
CITY CENTRE GRILLE
1. Customers with accessibility issues are offered a table where they can maneuver easily throughout the restaurant, as well as providing a nearby seat for customers who may have difficulty walking long distances.
2. Printed menus are available for customers who may not be able to access the QR code menu.
3. All service staff can outline menu options and explain the different options available with sides as well as price.
LANGFORD LANES
1. We offer a “special needs” rate for customers with cognitive or learning disabilities, which also applies to the customers’ intervenor/support person. This rate includes the cost of shoe rentals, and is available on our Standard Lanes only, valid Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm, based on availability of standard lanes. These reservations are available to be booked over the phone through our reception staff, or on a walk-in basis, but not available to be booked online.
2. Some customers with disabilities such as a wheelchair are not required to pay for shoe rentals. If a customer with a physical disability is unable to wear the rental bowling shoes, they should be offered disposable shoe covers as an alternative to ensure they are safely able to access the approaches while maintaining their personal safety and dignity.
3. Customers with a support animal should be given priority on specific lanes where there is less traffic around their support animal from other customers. Our cosmic bowling hours and video music hours are posted on our website so that it is clear for people who may have vision disabilities or mental health disabilities to allow them to make an informed choice on when the physical environment may not be suitable for them. We have disposable ear plugs available if a customer with a mental disability requires them to limit the noise stimulation.
MINI GOLF
Any person with a cognitive disability who wants to play minigolf with an assistive care worker, need only pay for one minigolf admission, and their care worker would be able to join them free of charge.
WESTHILLS ARENA (INDOOR/OUTDOOR ICE, PUBLIC SKATE)
1. Customers in a wheelchair can access the ice; however, for safety reasons, electric wheelchairs are not permitted on the ice. We have “skate buddies” available for customers who require them. They are limited in number and available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Skates are required on the ice for safety reasons unless a guest is in a wheelchair.
**It should be noted that the City Centre Park is not part of the Westshore Access Pass program.
